Eschewing the dark premise of the original Clue board game, the Disney version opts for a mission to solve the mystery of which familiar Disney pal gets haunted in which room of a haunted mansion by which specter. As with other familiar games from Monopoly to Chutes & Ladders, there are plenty of versions of Clue currently on the market, stretching across a multitude of themes and characters. But while the basic game play is the same, there are some style points scored here by the nicely detailed Victorian costumes and by the clever premise that if one succeeds, one gets to leave the haunted mansion. Though there are no dead bodies as in the original (unless you count the ghosts), the haunting aspect may scare younger players and the game is probably best enjoyed by kids age eight and up. –Charlie Williams
